Doray Motel

We were warmly welcomed at this charming little motel. The room feels like a small cabin, you feel surrounded by nature and it’s very peaceful. It is equipped with a fridge, microwave, TV, a table with two chairs, and a comfortable bed. The motel is well located; there is a gas station right next door where we grabbed our breakfast. Everything is within walking distance, the beach, souvenir shops, Fort William Henry, Pirate Mini Golf, Shepard Park, and more. In short, we will definitely be coming back!

What an absolute treasure. I’m so glad I found this place. It is a perfectly preserved and tastefully renovated example of a 1950s motel. It was exactly what I was looking for and probably the best example I have found in my travels yet of this genre of motel. Spotlessly, clean, tastefully updated, but still period correct. I absolutely love that the sign still works and is as bright as it was when it was new. So colorful. So 1950s. The gentleman who checked me in was super courteous and enthusiastic, I’m sorry I didn’t get his name. For what the room cost for the evening, it was a terrific value. I’m glad I chose this place over the many other places to stay nearby. I will definitely be back! Recommended!

Had been here for 2 nights. Rooms are decent, mattresses could do with a little more cleaning, found some hair on the bed. Surroundings are quiet. Short walk to million dollar beach and main street so location wise it is pretty good. Owners are very friendly. There's a lawn right outside the rooms with benches to sit and a BBQ grill station. Overall good experience.

Cute place. Owners were friendly and helpful. Very convenient to the Stewarts gas station for a morning coffee but it’s also very busy there and a big hangout at night. Though it’s further out on the edge of town, still noisy at night until about midnight with loud vehicles on the road.

Not bad. It’s not fancy at all. Less than average honestly. But for a cheap motel for a night or two it’s not bad. Short walk to the water straight down a relatively quiet road. Could use some TLC but it’s being maintained. Floors and shower were both relatively new. Bed was comfortable. Would stay again.

A fantastic place to stay at Lake George! Location is perfect, close to the village shops and restaurants and local amenities such as the Steamboat Co. and the lakefront itself. The owners are very friendly and accommodating. If booking, make sure to use their own website!

Just a cute little place, the owners are just the sweetest people on earth. The facility and property are clean and tidy. It looks like it's going through some improvements. I know it's not everyone's cup of tea but the knotty pine tongue and groove walls are great. Just reminds you you're in Lake George. The rooms are spotless, tidy and comfortable, there's a TV with actual channels and my bathroom was recently updated. The double bed in my room (12) was extremely comfortable. There is plenty of space for your belongings. The shower is a little tight. I'm not a Fatty McGee....I'm just a broad chested, gorilla armed 6' 185lb guy. This is not The Four Seasons, this is a charming little roadside motel that's been around for many decades that has been loved and well taken care of. I never write reviews this long unless it was really bad....this place is really good. I truly wish the owners the best and have had a lovely stay.

Owners were great, very friendly. We stayed here as a base to ride motorcycle out of. Beds were very comfortable, rooms have what you need at a great price. Ability to walk to a full service gas station right beside it was also an advantage. Would definitely return!
